Rev Wm Rose wishes an appointment as chaplain in the servise. His appointment would be an excellent one and I should hope you might find it convenient to appoint him. He served as orderly Sergeant and afterwards as Captain in the Mexican war and would make an excellent drill officer. Which duties he is willing to perform in addition to that of chaplain
Perhaps you might give him an appointment in the Regiment from the 5 district, head quarters Quincy. Direct to Rev Wm Rose as above
