Replying to your favor of the 9th inst. I regret to inform you that at present I have no position that I could appoint you to.

Before you can be commissioned again the disability occasioned by your resignation must be removed. Application for the same should be made to the Secretary of War, accompanied by certificate of an some Army Surgeon, approved by the Medical Director of an Army Corps or Dept. stating your present physical condition, also an affidavit as to the cause of your resignation.
