Col: The regiment to which I referred in my communication of yesterday, is designated as the 144th Ills Vols Infty, now being organized at Alton Ills by Col Cyrus Hall.
If consistent I would request, and will feel personally obliged, if you will transfer the 23 enlisted men to that command and furnish transportation to same.
