Captain -

In reply to your letter of the 6th inst. touching the recruiting in Chicago by Sergt. Wacker, to the Credit of Erie Co. New York, you are referred to the Proclamation of Gov. Yates dated Aug. 6. 1864. peremptorily forbidding such recruiting, and you are enjoined to Stop it promptly on all occasions, reporting any violations of his order at once to the Governor.
