            I have not been up to Berlin since I rec'd your papers in reference to the Land you sold to John (Fonch)?_ I expect to go up Soon and will then attend to your business

          I. L. Morrison came to see me to get John Mathers  (He said he would see him also) to use his influence with a Mr Wallace of Tuscola in your behalf for the Senate. He seemed to think that if his influence could be obtained that the member from Edgar county be probably influenced in your favor  John immediately wrote to him and I think if you desired

it or thought it necessary he would go himself He says he expects to see him any how before the 1st January John says he would do all he can to assist you in your election I have had some corn put in your crib and your Wood will be (Halled?) this coming week
