Dear Sir
It was my intention to have been in Springfield at the opening of the Legeslature and done what I could for your Election but a succession of Council Meetings with a view of Revising our City Charter has prevented my leaving Home. but be assured that the Representative hailing from Chicago who dares Cast his vote against you for United States Senator is a Dead Cock in the Pit
