Dear Governor
The Loyal Union men of Henry Northern Knox & Stark Counties want you to address the proposition on Wednesday the 28th day of September next - Gen Oglesby is not to speak anywhere in this locality and it is eminently proper that there should be a big rousing meting at this point - I think that it would be for your interest to come here -
Mr M M Ford the candidate for the legislature lives here - I have had some talk with him and he thinks that you are the first man on the list - I did not ask him directly about his views upon the (Senatoral?) (elec?)
tion but took pains to tell him that Jo Halyoke was for you in our County & that Farnesworths district had instructed for you & c & c - I feel perfectly satisfied that he is for you for Senator but would rather have him say so in so many words - I Know that he is quite anxious to have you come here & speak & would advise you to do so
Your friend
Clark E Carr
Govnr Rich'd Yates
