I have recently learned with some surprise that your Excellency some time ago received a petition from certain citazens of Mt. Carmel in my behalf.
I would be sorry to encroach upon your precious time, but if you still have the paper and if it is of no use to your Excellency you can confer a favor on a poor soldier by sending it to me at the Post Hospital
