In response to your request of the 12th Inst. I enclose a list of names of the leading Republicans of our County. I have humbly made out the list from memory and probably have overlooked some whom I would like have put on the list. Perhaps I have given you names enough for our County.

    I think we will make quite a [gain?] on the Democracy this fall and have some hope that we may succeed in electing our Co officers.  I am going to (run?] some of our returned soldiers for the difficult Co offices, to be filled this fall.
    Any other information you may desire in reference to our County I will cheerfully give you at any time when in my [home?]
