Dear Sir
I have you list of prominent Illinois men, hastily made up--I have added "G" for [German]--
I shall be glad to hear from you from time to time, and hope you will do all in your power to prevent the impenitent rebels from again getting control of the Southern States, either in the State or National Councils--If they are permitted to get such control I fear there will be another great calamity upon our beloved Countrey
