            Description
Musicians dressed as cowboys play their instruments on a stage in front of a rural backdrop. The WPA Federal Theatre Project (1935-1939) was a part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal program during the Great Depression. The Federal Theatre Project helped to fund theatre and live performance across the United States, and put actors, writers, and directors back to work.
