I am now acting as agent for Genl. Wood to the 2d Regt of Ills Cavalry I have before served my country in the Cavalry of Kentucky under Col. Marshal in Mexico and more recently as a first Lieut of Infantry under Genl Prentiss in Cairo
I understand that two additional Majors are to be appointed to the Second Cavalry of this State If you can give me one of those appointments you will confer a lasting obligation upon me Yours Truly,
