My Dear Gov
I want you to help me. I wish to go to Sutter with Col Cavanagh in the Gov's Legion. I brought a letter from our friend Geo A Dunlap to Col Cavanaugh, he tells me he will give me this appointment or that of Brigade Quartermaster & Commissary, if you are satisfied. Do what you can for me and I will always remember your kindness.
