Moved by Mr. Henry Hughes, seconded by Mr. William Rollinson, and carried unanimously—
That this meeting, on behalf of itself and the inhabitants of the town of Stourbridge, takes this opportunity of giving expression to its feelings of condolence and sympathy with the family of the late President of the United States of America and the nation at large on the occurrence of that great calamity to themselves and to the whole civilized world, by the assassination of their able, beloved, respected, and revered Chief Magistrate.
