Recd. your's containing letter I sent to you to Memphis.
Our affair as to the money you received is now settled. The opinion of the lawyers on both sides , I believe, was that I could hold the amount, but I did not want a law suit or trouble on my hands - The only thing I have now to say is for you to reflect whether you have done me justice. I shall trouble you no further about it leaving it with your own judgement & conscience to decide whether you will do me justice.
