            Description
A farmer complains to Uncle Sam about political corruption in Washington, D.C. declaring farmers are beginning to support a third party candidate. In the lower panel Uncle Sam shows the farmer two voting booths labeled "For Governor- A Candidate with a Spotted Record" and "For Governor- A Candidate with a Clean Record." Uncle Sam challenges the farmer to show whether or not they are opposed to corruption in publc office through their gubernatorial selection. McCutcheon's cartoon possibly refers to the 1920 governor's race, in which John H. Walker ran under the Farmer Labor Party.
