Description
The Vachel Lindsay Bridge on Lake Springfield was dedicated on July 12, 1935, and included a bronze bust made by sculptor Adrien A. Voisin located on a limestone pedestal at the west end. Lindsay's poem, "On the Building of Springfield," was carved into the limestone. Today, the bust of Lindsay can be seen at the Vachel Lindsay Home State Historic Site located in Springfield.
