On verso: "Presented to Carrie B. Howell Dec 19 1911 by Judge J O Cunningham. Here the Union SS was organized April 23, 1854 with 13 children & 40 adults. The court room was there meeting place until March 4 1855. Here in 1854 Abraham Lincoln made his third antislavery speech but it was the first address on the subject given in Champaign Co. & that fall the first votes in the Co were cast for anti slavery. Owned by the Congregational Church- care of Mrs. George White; 305 South McKinlet St.; Champaign, Ill."
