I received yours of the 14 Inst but two late to answer by return mail. You informed me that you with the State officers had recommended me as Assessor of this Congressional Destrict I am under Great and lasting obligations to you all for the Same and Should I be appointed I will discharge the duties to the best of my abilities and any thing I can do for your particular friends I would be glad to do
