Mrs. Harlan
I regret exceedingly that I was not present when you decided to leave our Boat (the Champion) as I should have more earnestly protested against your departure. I trust I will see you again "up the Tennessee" and assure you that I will give you any assistance in my power (or cooperate with you) in carrying out the design of your visit.
I remain
very Respy.
