Pontiac Ills 18th July 1862
Dear Governor.
Our board of Supervisors propose to take prompt measures to raise all the men possible in this County by offering a large bounty in the way of our county land. They desire me to ask you immediately, if the men we raise now will be credited on our county's quota of the 300,000. If it will we think we can put two companys in the field in ten days. Please reply immediately. Yours Very Truly
