Richard Yates
Dear Sir
Allow me the pleasure of introducing to you [him?] A H Nixon of McHeny Co.
Mr Nixon has for a number of years past been one of the leading citizens of McHenry Co. been in the state senate &c.
He is desirous of surving his country in the present war & visits Springfield with reference to that object.
I hope there is some opening for him as I am satisfied he is well qualified
to fill any position to which he [would?] aspire.
