Dear Sir: -
In answer to your letter of 1st inst I have to inform you that your information to the effect that I could issue you a deed for land entered at the Chicago Land Office, is wholly erroneous no officer of the state of Illinois has anything to do with the matter. I am informed that in such cases the deed must be applied for at the Genl Land office at Washington
