This is to state, that I am well acquainted with the bearer Capt J. B. Roberts who for some years has been a resident of this county.
Capt R. at an early day after the origin of the rebellion took up arms in defence of the country, and performed valuable service in suppressing disturbance in North East Missouri.
Capt R. bears a good reputation for
energy, honesty and upright bearing
