My dear Gov.

Our friend B.G. Wheeler Esq is about visiting your city with a view to bettering the condition of his son now in the army. I need not tell you that Mr. W is one of our staunchest Republicans, and has been for years, one of our hardest workers and has neither asked or received much from the party. If you can do anything for him in the matter of his son, I hope most sincerely you will. I understand the young man is very competent and has

been a long time in the service.
