The bearer Mr. F. L. Simonson I take pleasure in introducing to you as a sterling Union man and Citizen of this County.

He desires to go down to Vicksburg and bring home his nephew Lt. E. R. Prall of Co. F. 116th. Ills. Regiment, who is in a feeble and disabled condition there.

If you can aid him by letters to pass down the River without hindrance, you will confer a great favor on him and the friends of the sick lieutenant, and much oblige
