Gov. Yates -
As your warm personal and political friend I urge upon your deliberate consideration the propriety of your using your influence to get our extra session to come up like men on the war question. It is the home of Lincoln and he must be sustained. The Legislature ought promptly to appropriate not less than one Million of money and tender the government one hundred thousand men.
I cannot amplify for the Fairfield stage is now waiting.
I go to Washington Territory as secretary.
