Most honored Sir:
Deeming it incumbent upon every patriotic man to respond to the call of our Commander in Chief, I do most cheerfully offer my services to he Gov of my native State & solicit an appointment as Aid, or whatever Your Excellency may deem proper. I would refer Your Excellency to the Hon Cyrus Edwards & Capt [John?] Cook. Hoping that Your Excellency may deign to consider my solicitations
