Sir:
The bearer Mr Henry Rattle visits Paducah for the purpose, if possible, to obtain a discharge for Frederick Klingal, who is confined in your hospital of wounds received at the battle of Vicksburgh. You will oblige me by rendering Mr Rattle any assistance in your power, to enable him, to obtain the discharge of the young man, if consistent with the interests of the public service.
