Dear Governor

I had made up my mind to visit Springfield at the commencement of the session to give you my assistance (if necessary) in your candidacy before receiving your note.

I expect to come up Monday evening, as want of R.R. facilities on Sunday evening makes it altogether inconvenient to reach Springfield from this place any sooner.
