I have known him for a number of years-- he has been & is now a consistent Republican, an honorible man, & a true friend. he has been active in arousing his countrymen since the commencement of the war & taken a deep interest in every thing pertaining to the war. I deem him worthy of your confidence & his numerous friends would be rejoiced to learn of his obtaining a suitable position.
